Chicago-Area Looks For Calm After The Storm

A huge thunderstorm Monday caused what ComEd is calling one of the largest power outages in Chicago’s history. Some homes were still without power Tuesday as Chicago junk removal teams worked with homeowner to clear out trees and yard waste thrown around by the reported 75-mile-per-hour winds.

Northern Lake County was hit hard by the storm, where 70-mile-per-hour winds downed trees and caused some property damage. Power was still out there as of Tuesday morning, according to Fox News Chicago.

The storm also caused big problems for the Six Flags America amusement park in Gurnee, Il. The park was forced to close when it lost power due to downed power lines but was scheduled to re-open Tuesday.
The storm not only resulted in power outages but a lot of debris. Crews from Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana were called in to help with the junk removal effort. Removing tree limbs, yard waste and debris from public roadways, these teams looked to create a calm after the storm for Chicago-area residents. But for homeowners who fell victim to storm damage, private junk removal services helped provide similar comfort.
